At a lecture and discussion event held at Sophia University on January 25th, titled “The First 20 Years of Independence and the Current Situation in East Timor”, Yoshio Tsuchiya, a researcher at Kyoto University’s Center for Southeast Asian Studies, gave a presentation. He was a member of the Hasegawa Seminar at Hosei University, and has now become a distinguished scholar.
