Fukushiro Nukaga, Speaker of the House of Representatives, was re-approved as the 18th President of the Japanese Parliamentary Committee for a World Federation and took office. (6/3/2025)

The new chairman, Fukushiro Nukaga, is the 18th chairman of the Japanese Parliamentary Committee for a World Federation, having been appointed to the position by the outgoing 17th chairman, Seishiro Eto, who has now retired. In the past, there have been many cases where the president of the House of Representatives has become the president of the association, and I accepted the position because I had previously served as the first vice president. I intend to work hard together with Mr. Banri Kaieda, who succeeded Mr. Nakagawa as the Secretary General. In 2005, I was one of the people who submitted the so-called World Federalist Parliamentary Resolution, together with the 13th president, Mayumi Moriyama, at the time as the Secretary General. Twenty years have already passed since then, but I would like to ask for your cooperation as we continue to explore the path to reforming international organizations, developing international law, and realizing a world federation, remembering the ideals of this resolution and steadily moving forward one step at a time, even though the path is a difficult one. As the first step, after the General Meeting, there will be a speech and exchange of opinions by Dr. David Chikvaidze. We would like to thank Dr. Chikvaidze for coming. He said in his speech at the General Meeting that he was looking forward to his speech later.
